PASH Students Earn Eight Awards including Two Champions and a Team Sweepstakes at NOF Pine Speech & Debate Tournament

Over the first week of Christmas Break, 21 students from Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart competed at the National Online Forensics (NOF) Pine Tournament with 29 synchronous and asynchronous entries. The NOF Pine Tournament featured 486 student submissions representing 40 schools and programs from 12 states. 

PASH students earned seven individual awards including 2 champions. Princeton Academy was also honored with the 2nd Place Team Sweepstakes in the Elementary School Division based on the combined performances of Teddy D. ‘27, Vincent L. ‘27, Layne P. ‘27, and Sean P. ‘27 in the division for students in 5th grade and below.

In Middle School division of Prose/Poetry, Joseph L. ‘26 earned the Silver Medal for second place while Jonathan I.-O. ‘25 earned the Gold Medal. As the tournament champion, a pine tree will be planted in Jonathan’s honor through the non-profit One Tree Planted. In the Elementary Division of Prose/Poetry, Layne P. ‘27 earned the Gold Medal and will also have a Pine Tree planted through One Tree Planted in his honor as the tournament champion.

In Middle School Asyn Debate, Justin Z. ‘24 and Max W. ‘25 earned Bronze Medals while Yidrew C. ‘24 earned the Silver Medal for Second Place. In Middle School Async Congress, Gregory F. ‘26 earned a Bronze Medal. Max also had 2 wins and 1 loss in the synchronous Lincoln-Douglas Debates on Saturday, December 16, 2023. He just missed advancing to the elimination rounds on a tie-breaker.
