On Thursday, February 23, Princeton Academy welcomed author Carey Wallace to campus. The Visiting Author event was sponsored by the Princeton Academy Parents Association and held in the William E. Simon Chapel Library. Students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 enjoyed engaging presentations. Wallace passionately shared inspiring stories from her latest book, Stories of the Saints: Bold and Inspiring Tales of Adventure, Grace, and Courage. She encouraged students to find courage and grace for their own adventures in her book.
Librarian Ellen Dowling stated, “During this season of Lent, it was wonderful to have the opportunity to learn more about saints who live Goal 3 and learn that you can be materially poor yet still serve others because you are rich in spirit."
Stories of the Saints introduces young readers to stories of faith that are as amazing as Greek myths and as enthralling as folktales like Robin Hood and the Knights of the Round Table. Each biography is told with an emphasis on the adventurous life of a saint and recounts the miraculous histories of people who stood up for justice, mercy, and love, complete with gorgeous illustrations flecked with gold from Dragon Age: Inquisition artist Nick Thornborrow.
About the Author: Carey Wallace is the author of Stories of the Saints, The Blind Contessa’s New Machine, The Ghost In The Glass House, and Choose, and two upcoming books, Psalms of Wonder: Poems from the Beloved Book of Songs and The Discipline of Inspiration. She works to help people from all walks of life find inspiration and build strong creative habits to sustain a lifetime of creation. She grew up in small towns in Michigan, and lives and works in Brooklyn.
Thank you to PAPA and Mrs. Dowling for organizing such a wonderful Visiting Author experience for students!
