In the spirit of Goals I and IV, all members of the Princeton Academy community gathered on Friday, September 13, to celebrate the first liturgy of the school year, Mass of the Holy Spirit. Father Thomas J. Mullelly presided over the mass. Students processed into the McPherson Athletic and Convocation Center (MACC) side-by-side with their Prayer Buddies. Seventh grader Jack Trowbridge gave the first reading while Music Teacher Heidi New and Instrumental Music Teacher Haiben Wu along with students cantors and musicians provided the musical accompaniment for the mass. The ceremony included the traditional blessing of all students, faculty and staff for a blessed school year as well as a special blessing for the Princeton Academy Hawk!
The Mass of the Holy Spirit is a Jesuit tradition dating back to 1548. Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, very early on in its history, adopted this beautiful celebration of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you to Director of Community Liturgy and Religion Teacher Lorna Cole Durish for arranging a wonderful first mass of the year. Here's to a great school year - Go HAWKS!
