Headmaster Rik Dugan of Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart announced the advent of a One School model with the creation of a new position of assistant head of school which will replace the current division head positions on June 26 in a letter to the school community.
Dugan stated, "It is my honor to announce the appointment of Paris McLean as Princeton Academy's assistant head of school, beginning on July 1, 2020." He continued, "Paris is a visionary leader with an open heart who places the boys' wellbeing at the center of every decision."
Dugan's letter described McLean's numerous contributions over the five years he has served in his leadership role at Princeton Academy. As head of lower school, McLean advanced the school's strategic plan, designed and implemented programs to advance academic excellence, character development, wellness, social-emotional learning, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
When asked about the new position McLean commented, "Being able to extend my reach and support to our entire school community through a One School, K-8 model brings me great joy." He added, "While there will always be unique and distinctive features for both the Lower and Middle School, the fact remains that all of our boys and their families are a part of the Princeton Academy family. I look forward to partnering with and learning from all members of the Middle School community and leading side by side with a stellar Middle School faculty, who seek to bring out the very best in each boy. Together, we can and will continue to advance our school."
McLean is an alumnus of Princeton Day School (PDS) and LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
