The fourth-grade study of early American Colonial life culminated this week with spectacular presentations in our "Hawksville Tavern." Each boy became a Colonial tradesman, researching the process of becoming a master of his trade. Using Goal 2, "Think, Imagine and Create," the boys also wrote a story about one day in the life of his trade.

Lead Classroom Teacher Meghan Dilmore said, "This project helps connect our young gentlemen to not only a deeper understanding of life in Colonial times, but also, in this of time of push-button technology, what hard work with your hands might feel like. Beginning with our study of New World Exploration, they also gain a deeper appreciation of the hard work and sacrifice it took to not only survive, but also build a settlement, a town and a country. This will now lead Grade 4 into our study of the American Revolution."
