An additional eighth grade year can benefit a young student, especially those born between April and October. Reclassifying allows the gentleman-scholar to be older rather than the youngest.

This program follows Princeton Academy’s current eighth grade curriculum and is in place for all eighth-grade students. Reclassing supports students in building knowledge, understanding, and application of the curriculum, better preparing them for secondary school. College scholarships and financial aid packages are based on the first three years of high school, so it is very important that the student has a strong start as a freshman.

By reclassing, students have an extra year to develop physically, mentally, and emotionally, which can enhance their athletic performance and give them a competitive edge. This additional time allows athletes to refine their skills, gain strength, and improve their overall fitness, which can be crucial when competing at higher levels. Moreover, the extra year gives athletes a chance to mature and better adapt to the demands of high school sports, leading to increased confidence and a smoother transition to more intense competition. Ultimately, it can set a strong foundation for long-term success both academically and athletically.
