2009-2010 Basketball "A" Team

The 2009-2010 Princeton Academy Basketball "A" team ended up with the second best record in school history, finishing the season 7-5. All five losses were by 10 points or less. The boys were very competitive in all the games and worked extremely hard throughout the season to improve. The team also set a school record for most points in a game with 62. This team was led by a strong group of 7th and 8th graders. Coach Clewell will miss the 8th graders, but there are a lot of younger students ready to step up and fill their shoes.

2009-2010 Basketball "B" Team
Over the course of the season, the players worked on their fundamentals and learned to play together as a team. The wins started to come with an away game at Pennington in the fourth game of the season. The team showed tremendous improvement by ending the year on a three game winning streak highlighted by thrilling overtime victories against Rutgers Prep and Princeton Charter. Since they beat us the first time we played, Coach Deisher made it a main goal to beat those teams the second time around. The team overcame a huge 4th quarter deficit in the Princeton Charter game by playing aggressive defense to create a momentum swing. In the last game of the season, the team drastically exceeded their previous highest offensive production by scoring 42 points against a tough Waldorf squad.

2009-2010 Wrestling Team

The wrestling team continues to make progress each year, and this year was no different. Though our win-loss record may not show it, we had an extremely successful year with many wrestlers enjoying a winning record. Through the ups and downs, we are beginning to gain more respect throughout the area given of our lack of size. Overall, we were able to hold our own against much larger public schools. This season was capped off with a 7th grader taking home a silver medal in his weight class at the Greater Mercer County Wrestling Tournament, as well as an eighth grader winning two matches and finishing 7th in his weight class. The team finished the tournament in 10th place, which was a dramatic improvement from last year.
