The new year brings a new chapter in Mrs. Walradt's science classes: balance and motion! The boys are learning the concepts and then trying them out with paper airplanes. Prayer buddies helped with the construction and flight details.
Geometry IS fun! One activity involved making nutcrackers utilizing only quadrilateral-shaped pieces of paper. The Quadrangle Police inspected the pictures to be sure no triangles or other shapes were used. Mrs. Weise taught a lesson on her Promethean board showing how shapes could morph into other shapes.
The second grades began their study of China recently and learned how to write Chinese characters and how to practice Tai Chi. As the study progresses, the boys will finish with a wonderful Chinese banquet to celebrate the new year.
