Basketball "A"
Princeton Academy's "A" basketball team had a successful year. Their record of 4-10 doesn't represent how hard fought many of the games were this season. They fought hard until the final game and never gave up. The team was lead by a great group of 8th graders, who will be missed. The team had a lot of hot and cold streaks during the season, but when this team was on they could play with anyone. The team scored 53 points in a game, which is the 3rd highest points scored in school history. Coach Clewell will miss the 8th graders, but there are a lot of younger students ready to step up and fill their shoes.
Basketball "B"
The "B" basketball team had a successful season. Our record of 4-6 does not adequately reflect how well they played as a team. Our strength this season has been our defense. There were times during games when we shut out our opponents for an entire quarter. Something has to be said for the way this team worked together to stop their opponents from scoring. It was amazing! More important than winning or losing, this team had fun. They left every game with their heads held high and ready for the next game. Coach Geraci enjoyed watching this team learn and grow throughout the season and he looks forward to the next season.
Wrestling
The Princeton Academy wrestling program had a groundbreaking year. Though we finished with a record of 2 wins and 5 losses, we made some huge strides as a program overall. 2008-2009 marked the first home meets in school history vs. Rutgers Prep, and the Pingry School respectively. This season also marked our first trip to the Greater Mercer County Tournament where we competed against several public schools in the greater Mercer County area. Princeton Academy was the only non-public school in attendance, and was competitive in several weight classes. In just 2 seasons we have come a long way, and are continuing to draw interest and make progress in our development as a program. With some commitment to working in the off-season, the wrestling team will continue to improve as we move forward.
