Mark your calendar for Friday, February 6th for a Princeton Academy Family Night Out. Bring the family to watch the Parents vs. Faculty basketball game in the Athletic and Convocation Center. Tip-off is 6:45pm and admission is free. There will be food, fun, and half time competitions.
Before Christmas break, the second grade learned about Danish Christmas customs.
Prayer buddies hung birdfeeders around the campus before Christmas break so the birds would have plenty of food while school was closed.
The fourth grade spent Thursday with Ned Hector, an African Revolutionary War soldier considered a hero at the Battle of Brandywine, for braving a British attack on the 3rd Pennsylvania artillery, where he served as teamster and bombardier. Portrayed by Noah Lewis, a Revolutionary War interpretor, the interactive presentation afforded the boys the opportunity to assume the role of bombardier, hold a musket, and learn some of the social customs of the time. However, his presentation focused primarily on the role of Africans, free and slave, in America's fight for independence from Britain.
The fifth grade science classes are preparing for their first Independent Science Project (ISP), which begins this month and culminates at the ISP expo and judging later in March. Project TRP required the boys to guess how many times they would have to lick a Tootsie Roll Pop (TRP) before reaching the chocolate center. Then, each boy received a TRP and was instructed to begin licking and counting, recording results in their scientist's journal. All agreed it was a great way to conduct an experiment!
