Wednesday afternoon 46 middle schoolers from grades 5 through 8 competed in the preliminary round of the 2009 National Geographic Geography Bee. It was a spirited competition enjoyed by spectators and contestants alike. Our knowledge of U.S. geography and World geography was challenged by a variety of questions that covered these subjects in great depth. Five contestants emerged as finalists who will move onto the Championship round as yet to be scheduled.
