The William E. Simon Chapel Library opened for business on Monday, following the beautiful ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday. Boys quickly settled in, choosing a favorite book and finding a comfortable place to read.
Each year, the 8th grade creates a mural, which is painted and displayed on campus. This past week the boys presented their idea to Mr. Kalkus and began the process. Under the direction of Philadelphia muralist David Serotkin, who returns for a 5th year to work with the boys, the project should be completed next week. Stay tuned for more photos!
What was it like to be an African American soldier serving in the American Revolutionary War? 4th grade students spent the afternoon with a Revolutionary War re-enactor who explained the role of African American slaves and free men in America's fight for freedom from the British.
