Princeton Academy Soccer A and Cross Country teams finish seasons undefeated!

November 05, 2007

The Princeton Academy Soccer A team had the best season in the team’s history. The team went undefeated earning a final record of 9-0-1. The team was lead by thirteen eighth graders, many of whom had played together at the school since the fifth grade. Due to this fact, the team was able to communicate, pass, and play together to the best of their ability. The team had a potent offense, a steady defense, and a midfield that was able to dictate the tempo of the game. The reason for the team’s success was the fact that the players were able to play as a team. They showed selfless play every game with no one person putting their own personal glory before that of the team. The perfect season ended with a victory at the Lewis Invitational. It was a fitting end to a tremendous season.

The 2007 Princeton Academy Cross Country team enjoyed its best season in school history. The team finished the season with an impressive, undefeated record of 8-0. Waldorf, Chapin, and Princeton Charter challenged Princeton Academy this year, but the team was able to prevail in all meets against these tough schools. Princeton Academy’s greatest victory came in the Princeton Charter Invitational when the team received first place overall with over 120 students competing. The team was comprised of 26 boys, ranging from fifth grade to eighth grade. In addition, Princeton Academy placed first as a team in the Ed Scott Invitational Tournament, hosted by Pingry, with 2 or our runners placing first and fifth.

Although Princeton Academy will be losing 7 eighth graders after this season, the team should still run strong with up-and-coming fifth, sixth, and seventh graders.

GO HAWKS!
