The History of Princeton Academy

Born of the entrepreneurial spirit of a few courageous families and rooted in the 200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart, Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart has begun its mission of educating boys.

In 1998, a visionary group of parents, many with daughters attending Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, formed a non-profit organization to answer the question "How can we offer our boys the same excellent, faith-based academic environment that our girls enjoy at Stuart?" The answer was the great beginning of Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart. With tremendous support from parents, neighbors and the greater Princeton community, the school purchased its historic site, the former Our Lady of Princeton property, a 43-acre park-like setting, as its site.

In our short history, Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart has accomplished much (see the timeline of our story), but great challenges remain. The historic nature of the facilities (the Manor House and Academic Building) provides a unique environment but also demands significant transformation to meet the needs of a program for boys.

We invite you to learn about our mission and we hope that you will share in our vision for Princeton Academy, understand the faith-based values we work to instill in our young men and join in our commitment to support this young institution.
