The School

Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart is committed to academic excellence within a faith-based community. A junior kindergarten through eighth grade school dedicated to the education of boys, Princeton Academy is shaped by the Goals and Criteria adopted by the Network of Sacred Heart Schools around the world. The school's mission is to develop young men who, when faced with the challenges of their times, will make the right choices.

The development of a personal and active faith in God is the guiding principle of Princeton Academy's religious education, which is offered to students of all faiths. Sacramental preparation is a component of the religious curriculum for students of the Roman Catholic faith.

Princeton Academy nurtures the development of a deep respect for intellectual values with the goal of helping each boy become a self-reliant thinker, reader, and learner. The curriculum, specifically tailored to the educational needs of boys, combines many opportunities for active, hands-on learning while stressing the importance of reading, writing, and discussion.

A hallmark of Sacred Heart education is the development of a social awareness which impels to action. The school encourages students to act on their understanding of the needs of others by engaging in age-appropriate service to the community.

From welcoming visitors, to "prayer buddies," to "Friday Thank-You's," daily life at Princeton Academy emphasizes the value of building community as a Christian value.

The Sacred Heart philosophy of educating to personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom means that the school recognizes both the successes and failures of students as opportunities for development. An environment in which students have the freedom to make choices allows the boys of Princeton Academy to learn how to accept responsibility for actions, to feel pride in their achievements, and to grow from mistakes.

Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart does not discriminate on the basis of race or religion in the administration of its education, hiring and admission policies, financial aid program, or athletic or other school-administered programs.
