Capital Fundraising

Princeton Academy depends on capital fundraising initiatives to provide funds for projects such as renovations and the construction of new facilities. Capital fundraising is also conducted to add to the endowment fund. Princeton Academy's first capital campaign, which concluded in spring 2002, raised $6 million in gifts and pledges to eliminate the mortgage used to purchase the former Our Lady of Princeton property.

In 2004, the Campaign for Princeton Academy was launched. It was a $5 million campaign that has resulted in the construction of the Athletic and Convocation Center, the William E. Simon Chapel Library, and the school's expanded athletic fields.

What is the difference between a capital gift and an Annual Fund gift?

Capital contributions are used to support extraordinary projects. For example, a capital contribution may be used to support construction of a new building or be added to the school's endowment. Capital contributions can be pledged over a number of years. Annual Fund gifts are payable by the end of the school's fiscal year (June 30) and are used to support the school's annual operating expenses.
