Converting boundless energy into creative expression is only one of our goals. Clown Academy activities include fun things like: miming, pie-throwing, slapstick and pratfalls, clown gags, make-up, unicycling, juggling, stilt-walking, costuming, tumbling and acrobatics. Serious things like teamwork and organization skills are subtly, yet effectively built into the program.

Experienced Faculty

The Clown Academy is directed by Tom von Oehsen, a graduate of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College and staffed by professional actors and performers.

Clown Academy will feature special guest performances by Clown College graduates and other professional entertainers.

Final Circus Performance

Giving our new clowns the chance to show their stuff is important, so each session will culminate in a circus performance held at Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart.

Each apprentice clown will enjoy the use of special clown costumes during the Clown Academy. And they'll go home with a clown make-up kit and a class picture.

Serious Benefits

Besides all the fun children have at the special Clown Academy, they achieve serious educational results. Issues of teamwork, self-confidence and presentation, goal-setting and reaching are among the benefits yielded through the Clown Academy.
