The Admissions Process

Step 1: Attend an Open House or Schedule a Tour of the Campus

The best way to determine if Princeton Academy is the right school for your son is to come visit us. We feel strongly that if you come to visit and observe some classes you will experience why our school is such a unique and special community.

Step 2: Submit an Application

Complete and mail an application form along with the $75 application fee.

Step 3: Your Son Visits Princeton Academy

Upon receipt of a completed application and the application fee, the director of admissions will schedule a visit for your son. All students (except entering kindergarten students) are asked to spend a full day at Princeton Academy (while school is in session) prior to being considered for admission. The visit is designed to give you and your son the opportunity to become acquainted with the school and to enable our faculty and admissions committee to get to know prospective students.

Step 4: Parent Interview with the Headmaster or Head of Lower School

Upon receipt of a completed application and the application fee, the director of admissions will arrange for you to meet with the headmaster or Head of Lower School.

Step 5: Your Son Takes a Screening Test

All students will be screened using standardized screening techniques. Upon receipt of your completed application, the screening will be scheduled. Students applying for the sixth, seventh or eighth grades are required to take the SSAT. The SSAT will be administered on November 14, December 12, and January 9 at Princeton Academy. Please register with SSAT by visiting the SSAT web site.

Step 6: Submit Two Recommendation Forms to Your Son's Current Teachers

Recommendations from two current teachers are required and should be mailed directly to Princeton Academy. Forms for requesting recommendations are included in your admissions packet.

Step 7: Submit an Authorization for Release of Information Form to Your Son's Current School

A transcript or progress report is required of all students who have previously attended school. A transcript including official grades and standardized testing (as applicable) issued by your son's current school should be mailed directly to Princeton Academy. An authorization form requesting that your son's current school release this information to us is included in your admissions packet.

Step 8: Review and Notification

The admissions committee will review each applicant's file. Notification of the decision will be made by mail on March 10.
